Our Food Philosophy at The Palm Tree House

Your Boutique Bali Retreat

“The best way to experience a culture, is to taste it.”

During your stay at The Palm Tree House you will have the chance to enjoy some delicious meals. We make all meals from scratch right here on site in our kitchen. Our great team of chefs and cooks go to great lengths to ensure that every meal is both healthy, and also a delight for the tastebuds!

We source the best quality ingredients, utilising fresh organic produce wherever possible. We also support local Bali providers with our fruit and vegetables coming from the beautiful lush mountain town of Bedugul.

Healthful Eating

For breakfast we offer a delicious morning spread with fresh tropical fruit, Balinese style fruit pancakes, fresh local sourdough and gluten-free toast and spreads, natural and gluten free muesli, as well as freshly cooked eggs to order. Special breakfast options rotate daily and may include Coconut Mango Chia Seed Pudding, Black Rice and Coconut Pudding, Zucchini Fritters with Feta, or Dragonfruit Smoothie Bowls!

Lunch and Dinner options feature a mix of Balinese favourites such as Mie Goreng, Gado Gado, Vegetable Pad Thai, Asian- Style Soups, and also delicious fresh seafood options such as Snapper with Avocado Salsa and Pineapple Rice Boats with fresh prawns. Balinese style sambals and sauces are served alongside the main dishes for those who like a little extra heat and spice!

The Asian-style dishes are served with fresh healthy salads and western favourites such as Jackfruit Tacos, Buddha Salad Bowls, Corn Fritters with Avocado Salsa, Fresh Nori Bowls and Quinoa Salads.

A Mindful Menu

We cater to all dietary requirements on retreat- whether it be vegan, paleo, vegetarian, pescetarian, dairy-free, grain-free, low-fructose, FODMAP or any other particularities. Our kitchen team are well-versed and experienced in adapting meals to suit guests needs and preferences. We believe no one should miss out when it comes to delicious meals! Rest assured you will be well looked after on your Palm Tree House retreat.

Our food philosophy is that mealtime should be a time for celebration. Dishes are both healthy and vibrant, as well as flavoursome and substantial. We like meal times to feel abundant, so while some options are plated up, other meals are served buffet style so you can pick and choose as you please. Freshly homemade snacks are served every afternoon, and cold coconuts are served with breakfast and lunch, as well as free-flowing Balinese coffee and a selection of tea. If guests would like to keep their own snacks or drinks, we happily will keep them in the kitchen as desired.

Several meals are also left open for guests to experience the wonderful local food scene that Canggu is known and loved for. Options include everything from simple local Balinese cuisine, to world-renowned Italian, Mexican, Japanese or French restaurants. Canggu is also known for its abundance of healthy cafes that feature extensive vegetarian, vegan, paleo and gluten-free menus. Our team are happy to make suggestions and there are plenty of places you can enjoy all within walking distance.

Keeping it Local

At The Palm Tree House Bali Women’s Retreat, we believe that to truly connect with a place, you need to connect with its flavors. Our commitment to “Keeping it Local” goes beyond just sourcing ingredients; it extends to the heart and soul of Bali – its food.

Indonesia is a treasure trove of culinary traditions, and we want you to be a part of that journey. That’s why our menu is a carefully curated selection of local Indonesian dishes, thoughtfully prepared to immerse you in the authentic tastes of Bali and its warm-hearted people.

Each dish on our menu tells a story of culture, history, and the deep-rooted traditions that have been passed down through generations. When you savor these local Indonesian flavors, you’re not just eating a meal; you’re taking a culinary voyage that connects you with the heart of Bali.

When we say “Keeping it Local” we’re also talking about using ingredients that come right from our community. We believe in supporting our neighbors, which is why we get our fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients from local farmers and providers. By doing this, we not only ensure that your food is at its best in terms of freshness and taste, but we also contribute to the well-being of the local economy.

Hear from our guests

I had an amazing time at Bali’s Palm Tree House! They took great care of me from the moment I got picked up at the airport to the moment they dropped me back at the airport for departure, I felt safe, at ease, and spoiled even.

The food was delicious and healthy, and they really paid attention to its presentation and what I liked to eat. I genuinely believe that the food was also part of the healing experience.

The staff there are wonderful- super friendly and accommodating. It was great having a local Indonesian team because you get to understand the local culture a bit more by talking to them and hearing about all the beautiful things that they do in their community.

I had the time of my life at the Palm Tree House and I’m already excited to go back someday. If you’re thinking about booking a stay, go for it!

The experience was truly phenomenal from start to finish.
The food is outstanding that not only delicious but also healthy and nourishing, which made me feel energized throughout the day. The chefs clearly put a lot of care into crafting menus that catered to various dietary needs and preferences.

The retreat provided ample opportunities to meet new friends. The communal spaces were inviting and conducive to socializing. I had the chance to connect with like-minded individuals from all over the world even traveling there solo, and to learn from their experiences and perspectives.

All in all, I am sure this PTH is a great place to be for a rejuvenating experience!
