THE PALM TREE HOUSE F.A.Q

How do I get to your Bali Retreat?

The airport code is DPS – Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. At our Bali Retreat we provide complimentary airport transfers to retreat between the hours of 11am – 8 pm on the first day of the retreat and 8am – 9pm on the final day of your retreat.

For guest arrivals and departures outside our transfer times, it will be necessary to organize your individual transport to or from the retreat at your own expense, which can range from $15 – $25 USD approx. We are happy to organise this on your behalf.

What age are most guests/what is a typical guest?

Typically, our guests range in age from mid 20’s – to late 40’s although we also get younger and older guests. We love welcoming women from all over the world and enjoy hosting a mix of guests with various nationalities, backgrounds, ages and interests. We find that everyone connects well regardless of their differences and many guests find they have very much in common also. Our guests come from all walks of life and we feel lucky to offer a safe space for women to come together and celebrate our shared commonalities and what makes us unique also. The Palm Tree House is an inclusive, non judgmental, welcoming environment where women are encouraged to simply be themselves.

Can I come solo?

About 60% of our guests are solo travellers. The Palm Tree House Bali is a safe and ideal place to stay as a solo woman traveller. We meet you at the airport and whisk you away to beautiful Canggu where the team is awaiting your arrival with a cold drink and snacks. Bali is an easy place to travel as a solo female and Canggu is a wonderful haven, easy to explore and get around. Each villa hosts up to 6 ladies at a time, so you will also have several women around during your stay. Meals are communal which is a lovely way to get to know your fellow retreat guests. You are welcome to interact with others as much as you please. The staff are also on hand to help you with anything you may need. We love doing everything we can to ensure all guests feel safe, welcome and at home during their stay.

How much money should I bring?

As most things are included in your Bali retreat package, the only things you will need to pay for are any incidentals (such as alcoholic drinks, phone calls, extra spa treatment services) and any of the meals that are not included which allow you to explore some of the fabulous restaurants nearby.

If you wish to do any optional extra activities or go shopping while staying at our Bali retreat, there are plenty of ATMs available nearby, where you may withdraw money.

Do I need to rent a car or scooter?

Our Bali retreat is in the heart of Canggu and its easy to access the beaches and shops with one of our complimentary bicycles.

We also have a driver on hand who will take you to see some of Bali’s famous sights. If you don’t wish to cycle or walk, you are welcome to rent a scooter which we can organise. It costs approx US$7 per day.

Is there shopping nearby?

Yes there is lots of great shopping right near the retreat. You can either walk around the shops or cycle to them within 5 – 10 minutes. If you wish to go further afield, we can organise transport for you at an additional charge. Private drivers cost as little as US$25 per half day.

Where are the villas located?

All of our Palm Tree House villas are located very close to one another on the one long road in Canggu. House 5 is closest to the beach and plenty of shops and cafes. If you are looking to spend a lot of time in the ocean or out and about, this is a great choice. House 4 and 6 are very close to one another, just a couple of minutes walk. They are a little further from the beach in a quieter location, but still only a 10 minute walk to the ocean. They are also surrounded by lots of little cafes and shops and are a 10 minute walk into the central shopping area of Canggu. All houses have bicycles which makes getting around quick, fun and easy!

Here are some things that may come in handy: several swim suits, sunscreen, hat for sun protection, a dress for a night out, flip flops, beach towel, yoga or active clothes and personal toiletries. House 6 is modern and bold with an impressive sparkling pool surrounded by daybeds and lush tropical gardens. The main level of the villa has a huge open kitchen and dining area, a comfortable lounge and also a media room. There are five bedrooms on the second floor and one smaller downstairs bedroom. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and are beautifully styled, the two standard private rooms share an ensuite. The master bedroom comes with a spacious walk-in robe, dressing room and bathroom, complete with a bathtub. Beside the spacious pool is a beautiful open-air yoga space perfect for yoga, fitness, and also poolside pampering and spa treatments. This villa is larger than house 5, and pretty on par in terms of size and space as House 4. This villa is modern and filled with sunshine, perfect for those looking for a real tropical escape.

House 5 is situated one block back from Canggu’s famous Echo Beach. This villa merges barefoot boho vibes and mystical Moroccan romanticism. House 4 offers elegant Colonial-style architecture that seamlessly merges with distinct Balinese beauty. Tucked back from the road by a 40 meter driveway, you feel blissfully removed from the outside world, secluded in your own tropical haven. There are five bedrooms that vary in size and features, all offering a peaceful sanctuary for you to retreat to. Each has their own ensuite except the two standard private rooms share one bathroom between them. This house is expansive and tranquil, perfect for those looking for a little more privacy and peace. House 4 also has our gorgeous Palm Tree House mascots- Roxy and Rice.
