Healthy Chocolate Ginger Bliss Balls

Need a healthy snack to replace some perhaps less-than-healthy ones that have snuck into your diet?!

Setting aside a little time each week to make some healthy snacks or do some meal prep can go a long way in supporting healthy eating habits. When you have great food on hand, you’re far less likely to order in or opt for less-than-healthy options.

On retreat, food is always a highlight and guests love the opportunity to enjoy so many different flavours and options that are available. Everything is made onsite by our holistic cooks and we always aim to balance flavour alongside nutrition.

We believe in balance and don’t agree in labelling foods as good or bad. Yet these little bliss balls certainly taste like a serious treat but are made from 100% natural wholefoods. Enjoy a chocolatey snack that your body will love as much as your tastebuds.

Find the recipe below.

Chocolate Ginger Bliss Balls

Ingredients

1 ½ flaked almonds
¾ cup of sunflower seeds
½ cup of coconut
¾ cup of soft dates
1 inch piece of ginger grated
3 tablespoons of cacao powder
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
½ a teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of tahini
1 tablespoon of coconut nectar
Method-

Place the almonds, sunflower seeds and coconut in a food processor and pulse until they break down to resemble a nut meal.

Add all the remaining ingredients and process until the mixture comes together into a sticky dough.

Roll the mixture into small balls and then roll them in coconut to coat them.

Keep the balls in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 weeks or so.
